I was born and raised here in Columbus. Growing up I played a lot of different sports and lacrosse became my first love. I was a 2-year starter at Otterbein University on the lacrosse team. I have a degree in Exercise Science with a minor in nutrition. My passion for fitness started in college as I began to exercise more to help me on the playing field. I love helping people reach their fitness goals, no matter what they are, while keeping it fun and exciting!

Garre Martin | Certified Personal Trainer/yoga instructor

I have always loved health and fitness. I grew up doing any type of workout tape my mom had lying around. I started really honing in on my diet and making diet and exercise a priority a few years ago and it has changed my life! I realized I wanted to help other people by educating them and helping them reach their goals. Now, it is my passion. I am constantly educating myself on nutrition and exercise and love learning and teaching. Outside of personal training I also have a background in group classes, yoga and nutrition coaching.

Steve Somppi | Certified Personal Trainer

Steve has been a certified personal trainer for seven years and earned his certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Born and raised in Northeast Ohio, Steve played football and ran track in high school. In college, he was a three year letter winner in track and field as a long jumper and graduated from Baldwin-Wallace University with a degree in English. He then attended Bowling Green State University where he earned a Master of Arts degree in College Administration. Steve moved to the Columbus area in 2002 and has been a football coach in the Upper Arlington school district for 14 years. Steve is currently the 8th grade wide receivers and defensive backs coach at Hastings Middle School. Steve was also a 7th and 8th grade boys and girls track coach for seven seasons at Jones Middle School as well.

Although he has always been a fitness enthusiast, Steve did not decide to become a personal trainer until 2011 when a former supervisor asked Steve to help him lose weight and prepare for a Tough Mudder competition. Over the course of five months, Steve’s first fitness client lost 40 pounds and he finished the race. After witnessing how much he could help make a positive impact in the lives of others through fitness, Steve decided to change careers and became a personal trainer.

Steve brings a passion and enthusiasm for fitness to his training and truly enjoys helping others improve their overall health, well-being, and level of fitness. He also believes that to make lasting changes to your body, inside and out, you must incorporate good eating habits, as well as both cardio and resistance training.

Steve and his wife, Julie, have a son, Carmine and a daughter, Sofia, and live in Hilliard. In his spare time, Steve enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, watching sports, and traveling.
